On seeing this chart, I was struck by the similarity between the size and growth stats of the Wikipedia and the stats that I know from some other community projects. I also recall that many people who were zealots were also editors at DMOZ, Go Guides, or Guides at About.
I wonder how big the kernel of serial contributors is.
