We had a lovely dinner of tritip steak at Frank and Luanne's place, marination courtesy of Cosentino's. Rice and artichokes on the side made for a lovely meal. Paired with a nice Berringer pinot noir, followed by a French Muscat and Marie Callendar's German Chocolate pie (chocolate mousse, coconut, walnuts, with a meringue topping).
Be careful out there...we were in about five separate dangerous car situations today - first was in San Jose where we watched the guy in front of us turn left despite the red left turn light while waiting for the traffic signal to change...fortunately, there was a cop right next to us who immediately pulled him over. On the freeway there were two separate folks who were barely able to stay in their own lane at speed. Third, a car pulled over on the side of the road distracted us from another car about 100 yards ahead which was going maybe 10 miles per hour on the freeway. We came very close to hitting that car because we let ourselves get distracted :-(. Finally, some guy turned backwards onto a one way street and despite my flashing high beams, my trying to turn toward him to cut him off, and yelling "one way!" out of my window, this guy proceeding to drive backwards for about half a mile. Again, fortunately, a cop happened to be driving by and pulled the guy over. Officers, tonight we thank you for getting these nutty people off the street and hopefully home safe so no one gets hurt...
Cosentino's, by the way, is the best market in San Jose. The closest thing I'm aware of in SF is Whole Foods Market or maybe the Rainbow Grocery.
